CSR – Tree Plantation Event

CSR – Tree Plantation Event

There is a saying “The best time to plant a tree is twenty years ago. The second best time is now”. Yes, this is the perfect time to convey in words about the “Tree Plantation” event we organized as part of our CSR committee. As deforestation is deteriorating our environment, the focus of this campaign is to improve our living condition.

On July 23, 2016, we, the CSR committee, with our public-spirited volunteers Participated in the “Tree Plantation” event with great involvement and uncountable effort. The event was organized at Parakkai Government Higher Secondary School, KanyaKumari. We were a total of eighteen employees from CapeStart, who reached the school by 10.00 AM and as we reached the school, we had a pleasant greeting from the school headmistress, teaching staff, non-teaching staff and the excited students.

We then paired up to start planting trees. Soon we began the work of planting the saplings. The saplings we had chosen include both decorative plants as well as fast growing trees. Once we planted our saplings, watered them and it felt great. Followed by this, we made fences for all our planted saplings.

“Planting trees is a win-win-win”. They help clean the air, reduce waste water run-off, provide shade and beautify neighborhoods.

During the program we had full support and guidance from Mr. Edward Smith, Managing Director of CapeStart, who planted several saplings.

We were all satisfied with the good work we did at the school. All volunteers enjoyed the event and are looking forward to another tree planting event in the future.
